In 1892 white businessman and land speculator Caspary sold lots in Patterson’s 5 Acre subdivision, apparently planned from the first as an African American development, to Ezekiel Williams, Daniel Furch and other Black buyers.

The Williams-Anderson House was one of the first built there.
