KLTV Channel 7 signs on
KLTV Channel 7 signed on October 14, 1954.
It was founded by Lucille Buford, whom the station calls “the L in KLTV”; KLTV says she chose 7 because it was her favorite number.
The station says it first broadcast from an old airport hangar off Kilgore Highway.
Note
The details about Lucille Buford and the hangar are KLTV’s own account.
