Mother Frances Hospital opened in Tyler on March 18, 1937, a day earlier than planned, to care for victims of the New London School explosion.

Sixteen Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth had come to Tyler to open it.

The system, by then named Trinity Mother Frances, joined CHRISTUS Health in 2016.
